Literacy Open Morning

On Thursday 12th November we welcomed parents and carers from across the school to join us for a poetry themed Literacy Open Morning. Once again the event was well attended, and those who attended left with a better understanding of how poetry is taught across the school.

Tosin Oke

On Tuesday 10th November, Nigerian Triple-Jumper, Tosin Oke, came to visit Sherington to inspire us all to be the best that we can be. Visit of Children’s Author – Mac Barnett

Children from Invicta Primary School joined us to welcome children’s author Mac Barnett, who is currently visiting the UK. Mac Barnett read to the children from two of his books. He also discussed his books, his career, and his inpirations with the children, signed copies of books, and answered questions.

Judo Club!

Starting this term, Sherington will be running a Judo Club as one of its many after school activities. Two Senseis came and gave our children an exciting demonstration during assembly.

Grand Opening of the Linnaeus Garden

On Monday 16th March, we formally celebrated the opening of The Linnaeus Garden, which was officially opened by Chris Collins, the Blue Peter Gardener. Glee Club performed and children from 5P presented their artwork, as a gift of thanks, to those who helped craete the garden.

Christmas Stories

When the sun went down and the lights on the Christmas tree began to flicker the children of Sherington were invited back to school to listen to Christmas stories. Children gathered in the school hall in their pyjamas to listen to Christmas stories told by the Head and Deputy head teacher. What a special occasion!

Christmas Market

Sherington Primary’s Poet Laureate

Congratulations to Peadar for winning the distinguished title of Sherington Primary’s Poet Laureate. Peadar wrote a fantastic poem about climate change.
