Myths and Masks trip 3W

3W had lots of fun at the Old Royal Naval College at the Myths and Masks workshop. Student Council Presentation to Governors

Our fantastic Student Council presented to the school governors to explain their roles, why it is so important, how they do it and the impact. They created their own presentation and did an incredible job of delivering it.

Year 3 rehearse for their concert

  Year 3 have spent the morning rehearsing ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ which they will perform to parents and peers next Monday. They have worked hard all year, singing in 3 part harmony and playing keyboards, drums and brass instruments and they are ready to show everyone their exceptional talents!

Senior Band record at Recording Studio

Our fabulous Senior Band (made up from year 5 and 6 pupils) have spent the day at Helicon Mountain recording studio, owned by Jools Holland. 3W had fun at Hyde Park this week!

We love exploring the outdoors! This week we went to Hyde Park to discover all the different plants, we even go to make our own plant pots and plant edible plants!

Year 3 went to the Animal Park!

This week Year 3 had a surprise trip to Maryon Wilson Animal Park. This was a hook into our new piece of writing, all about animals. We had a great time and made lots of notes!

Year 3 composition work

Year 3 have enjoyed their composition work in Music this morning. They are learning to read and write music notation and had a go at playing their compositions on glockenspiels.

Investigating capacity! 3W

This week in maths year 3 have been looking at capacity and volume. Using measuring cylinders, we measured how much liquid was in the bottle.

Buddhist symbolism

As part of their R.E. topic on Buddhism, year 3 have been looking at important Buddhist symbols. We even had a go at making our own origami lotus flowers!

3C pottery class

Children in 3C made clay pots like the ones Stone Age people used to store water in.

Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who came to the Christmas Fair and to the Friends of Sherington for putting on such a great event – much festive cheer was spread! Thanks to Ms Portman and our choirs too.

Year 3 have been studying rocks!

In our science lessons we have been looking at different rock formations and discovering their origins. We decided this rock was sedimentary as it was made up of layers.
