2T’s Magical Dream!
Year 2 had a magical dream this week. We dreamt that they went to visit Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! We wrote a recount of our visit. We even had some of the factory’s dreamy delights to eat!

In Science Year 1 have been learning all about our senses. Today the children used each of their five senses to explore new things in our classroom. Highlights included tasting lemon juice and smelling vinegar! The children then described what they had experienced to their peers.
Reception parents have been busy using the new Tapestry app, it has been brilliant to hear all about the learning the children are doing at home! It is proving a fantastic tool for communicating learning between home and school.
4C have had great fun this week learning their new class story ‘Why you shouldn’t go into the forest’.
This week in science, year 4 have been learning about states of matter. The children had a go at demonstrating how solid, liquid and gas particles move around.

Year 4 have been using their design technology skills to make a Lego mechanical limb and program it with their computing coding skills. Lots of teamwork and perseverance being shown in computing today.
2C really enjoyed dressing up in spotty clothes to raise money for children in need today. We had great fun on the bouncy castle too! Thank you to you all for your donations.

The children in Year 5 were visited by Peter Clayton, the grandparent of one of our students. Peter came in to share his amazing artwork with the children as well as talk about the journey that led him to becoming an artist.
This half term, 2T will be studying Christianity as part of their religious studies. 2T loved the hook lesson, where they got to read about Christianity and look at Christian artefacts.
2C explored our new RE topic of Christianity by looking at different artefacts and books from the religion. All children are really enthusiastic and keen to learn more.
4W have been learning a new story using drama and actions. We used ‘Talk for Writing’ to turn a story into an emotive diary entry and in groups, re-told it to the class.

Last week, Reception classes opened their doors to parents and carers to showcase how they develop their reading and writing skills. It was a great success and a wonderful morning for everyone involved.
As a part of our humanities topic of ‘Toys’ the children have loved having the opportunity to play with different toys from the past.
In our science lessons we have been looking at different rock formations and discovering their origins. We decided this rock was sedimentary as it was made up of layers.
2C loved having the parents in for our English open morning. It was really great to share our story with you all and hear you perform it yourself.

Year 3 are enjoying their First Access Music lessons. They are about to start their final four-week taster session on either trumpet, keyboard or drums.

Year 5 had such an exciting day at the Science Museum. We visited the Wonderlab, which fuelled our imagination and inspired us to see the world around us in new and exciting ways. We also watched Our Beautiful Planet in the IMAX theatre to hook us in to our Science Topic – Space.

This morning, 6A shared a poem with the rest of the school, focusing on this month’s value of kindess. Each group prepared and delivered thier own activity with each class. We had play script writing, drama, oral retelling, poem writing and more. A great morning for all!
Year 6 have had a fantastic adventure on their school journey to Wales. They took part in many exciting activities to develop their confidence, teamwork and independence. Nursery will be going on an exciting Autumn walk in October. They will have the opportunity to explore their environment and how the season is changing. The children will collect a variety of shaped leaves, conkers and ferns.
